Illegal water diversion foiled during CRBC operation in DIKhan
Dera Ismail Khan, Jul 19 (APP): The district administration, under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Iftikhar Ahmad, carried out an anti-water theft operation along the Chashma Right Bank Canal (CRBC) from Pusha Head to Distributary No. 05 in collaboration with officials of the CRBC Irrigation Department and WAPDA.
During the operation, seven illegal water connections were disconnected, while a suction pump installed for unauthorized water extraction was removed on the spot.
The team also foiled an attempt to create an illegal breach in the CRBC near Distributary No. 05. In addition, an unauthorized water channel dug by local individuals was closed and the canal was restored to its original condition to prevent illegal diversion of water.
Officials said details of all violators had been compiled and legal proceedings had been initiated against them under the relevant laws.
The administration reiterated its commitment to protecting public water resources and warned that strict action would continue against anyone found involved in water theft or illegal interference with the irrigation system.
