Illegal rock chalking in Kaghan Valley; two caught red-handed, material seized

Following the directives of Director General Kaghan Development Authority (KDA), Rehmat Ali, the Environment Protection Unit conducted a targeted operation in the Sohuch and Battakundi areas, where individuals involved in illegal rock chalking on natural rocks and stones were caught red-handed.

KAGHAN, Jun 18 (APP):Following the directives of Director General Kaghan Development Authority (KDA), Rehmat Ali, the Environment Protection Unit conducted a targeted operation in the Sohuch and Battakundi areas, where individuals involved in illegal rock chalking on natural rocks and stones were caught red-handed.
According to officials, the team also seized the material being used for wall chalking during the operation. The accused were found defacing natural rock formations in violation of environmental protection regulations.
Authorities stated that such illegal wall chalking not only causes environmental pollution but also severely damages the natural beauty and scenic landscape of the Kaghan Valley, which is a major tourist destination.
The Kaghan Development Authority reiterated that it is taking continuous and strict measures to preserve the valley’s natural environment, cleanliness, and aesthetic value. Officials emphasized that the protection of tourist sites is a top priority and such activities will not be tolerated.
Tourists and the general public have been urged to adopt environmentally responsible behavior and actively contribute to keeping natural sites clean, protected, and free from defacement.
