PESHAWAR, Jun 10 (APP):Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Wednesday expressed concern over the prevailing heatwave across the province, particularly in the plain districts, and urged the provincial government to take immediate measures to protect students, teachers and school staff from extreme weather conditions.
In a tweet on X, the Governor said the intense heat being experienced in various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was a matter of serious concern and stressed that the health and safety of children, teachers and school employees must remain a top priority.
He called upon the provincial government and relevant education authorities to immediately review the situation and ensure the provision of basic facilities in educational institutions to safeguard students from the adverse effects of extreme weather.
Governor Kundi emphasized the need for all necessary precautionary measures to minimize health risks associated with the ongoing heatwave and to create a safe learning environment for students.
“Education is important, but the well-being of our children is paramount,” he said, urging authorities to take timely decisions in the best interest of students and educational staff.
The Governor also tagged the Elementary and Secondary Education Department, provincial education officials and the Chief Minister for prompt action regarding the situation.
