Governor KP assures support for education, nursing sector

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Wednesday held separate meetings with educationists and health sector representatives at Governor House, discussing issues related to higher education and nursing sector development in the province.

PESHAWAR, Apr 08 (APP): Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Wednesday held separate meetings with educationists and health sector representatives at Governor House, discussing issues related to higher education and nursing sector development in the province.
In a meeting with Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Fida Younas Khattak of Pir Roshan Institute of Progressive Sciences and Technology, Miranshah, matters pertaining to the institute’s challenges and development were discussed in detail.
The Governor said the institute would play a vital role in promoting education and regional development, particularly in the merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He assured full cooperation from the Governor House in resolving issues related to land acquisition and matters concerning the federal government. He also pledged support for the establishment of a camp office of the institute in Islamabad.
Separately, Dr. Janbaz Afridi, President of Peoples Doctors Forum and Chancellor of Abasyn University Peshawar, called on the Governor and discussed issues related to the promotion of nursing education in the province.
Dr. Afridi highlighted the challenges faced by the nursing sector and urged the Governor to take up the matter with the Federal Minister for Health to direct the Pakistan Nursing Council to grant permissions to institutions that have already completed inspections.
Governor Kundi acknowledged the importance of nursing education and assured his full support, saying that relevant authorities would be contacted to find a viable solution to the issue.
He reiterated the provincial government’s commitment to strengthening education and healthcare sectors to ensure sustainable development in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
