Governor attends martyred policeman’s funeral, condemns terror attacks, lauds security forces

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi on Friday attended the funeral prayer of martyred police constable Shah Mast Khan, who embraced martyrdom after unidentified terrorists opened fire in the limits of Chamkani Police Station here. 

PESHAWAR, Oct 02 (APP): Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi on Friday attended the funeral prayer of martyred police constable Shah Mast Khan, who embraced martyrdom after unidentified terrorists opened fire in the limits of Chamkani Police Station here.
The funeral prayer was held at Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines Peshawar, and was attended by senior officers and personnel of the Pakistan Armed Forces and Police.
The Governor laid a wreath on the coffin of the martyred policeman, met the bereaved family and fellow policemen, paid tribute to the sacrifice of the martyr, and prayed for the elevation of his ranks and patience for the grieving family.
In a separate statement, Governor Kundi strongly condemned the hand grenade attack on the police guard at Jandola Hospital district Tank and expressed deep sorrow over the martyrdom of Police Constable Sirajuddin.
He extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the eternal peace of the martyr and fortitude for his relatives.
The Governor said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police had rendered unparalleled sacrifices in the war against terrorism, adding that the sacrifices of police personnel would never weaken the nation’s resolve.
He stressed that all relevant institutions must work together and take effective measures to eradicate terrorism completely.
Meanwhile, Governor Kundi also paid tribute to the security forces for successfully killing seven terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in North Waziristan.
He said the successful operation reflected the professionalism, bravery and effective intelligence capabilities of the security forces, adding that such actions demonstrated that anti-state elements would not be allowed to endanger the peace and security of the people.
The Governor said the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa highly valued the sacrifices of the security forces and law enforcement agencies and stood firmly with them in the fight against terrorism.
He emphasized that effective operations should continue until the complete elimination of terrorism to ensure lasting peace, adding that the people of the province remained united against the enemies of peace.
