Gomal Medical College signs MoU with Chinese hospital to promote spinal surgery collaboration

Gomal Medical College (GMC) Dera Ismail Khan has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Third People’s Hospital of Henan Province, China, to establish academic and clinical collaboration in the field of minimally invasive spinal surgery, marking a significant step towards strengthening international cooperation in healthcare.

Dera Ismail Khan, Jul 26 (APP): Gomal Medical College (GMC) Dera Ismail Khan has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Third People’s Hospital of Henan Province, China, to establish academic and clinical collaboration in the field of minimally invasive spinal surgery, marking a significant step towards strengthening international cooperation in healthcare.

Talking to APP, Dean/Chief Executive of Gomal Medical College Prof. Dr. Naseem Saba said the agreement would promote the exchange of clinical expertise, joint research, faculty development, advanced surgical training and the adoption of modern approaches to patient care.
She said the partnership would enhance institutional cooperation between the two medical institutions and create opportunities for mutual learning, innovation and excellence in neurosurgical practice.
Under the agreement, Dr. Nafis Ahmad and Dr. Tufail, Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at GMC, were authorized by the Dean to sign the MoU on behalf of Gomal Medical College.
The signing ceremony was attended by the President of the Third People’s Hospital, Henan Province, along with members of the Board of Directors and faculty of the Department of Neurosurgery.
The Pakistani delegation included Hospital Director Dr. Farukh Jameel, Managing Director Dr. Khalid Mehmood, Professor of Neurosurgery, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Hamayun, Associate Dean Postgraduate Medical Education, and the Dean of Gomal Medical College.
Prof. Dr. Naseem Saba said the collaboration reflected the strong and growing partnership between Pakistan and China in the health sector. She expressed confidence that the agreement would pave the way for future cooperation in medical education, research, faculty development and advanced clinical care beyond the field of spinal surgery.
She described the MoU as a proud achievement for Gomal Medical College and an important milestone towards promoting international collaboration, innovation and excellence in healthcare.
