DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Sep 09 (APP):A fire safety awareness session and mock drill were held here at the State Life building (SLB) to train employees and other occupants in dealing with fire emergencies.
The session was organised under the supervision of State Life Building manager Muhammad Sajid in collaboration with the Civil Defence Department and Rescue 1122.
Employees of various State Life offices and other organisations housed in the building, including the Press Information Department, PSO, UBL, PBS and Security Commission, participated in the training.
The participants were briefed on immediate response measures in case of fire, safe evacuation procedures, use of fire extinguishers and other steps to protect lives and property during emergencies. The mock drill also provided participants with practical training in responding to a fire incident.
Trainers from the Civil Defence Department demonstrated basic fire safety measures, while Rescue 1122 officials conducted the practical drill and explained emergency response procedures. The session also covered common causes of fire and precautionary measures to minimise risks.
Muhammad Sajid thanked the Civil Defence Department and Rescue 1122 teams for conducting the training, saying such exercises were important for creating a safe environment in public buildings. He said the State Life would continue taking practical measures to improve fire safety and ensure the protection of employees, tenants and other people present in the building.
The participants appreciated the training and expressed their commitment to following the safety guidelines and using the skills learnt during the session in case of an emergency.
