PESHAWAR, Sep 16 (APP):Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has continued its environmental monitoring activities and inspected 16 restaurants/BBQ/Tikka shops with a special focus on smoke emissions and associated air quality concerns, said a press release of the agency issued here on Wednesday.
The activity was aimed at identifying and controlling smoke emissions from commercial food outlets, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and minimizing sources of local air pollution.
Such preventive monitoring efforts are particularly important in view of the upcoming smog season and the need to safeguard public health and environmental quality.
It said that the Environmental Protection Agency KP remains committed to effective implementation of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Environmental Protection Act, 2014 and any violations observed during monitoring activities shall be dealt with strictly in accordance with the law.
