DPO Dera inspects imambargahs, procession routes ahead of Muharram

Dera Ismail Khan , Jun 06 (APP):District Police Officer (DPO) Dera Ismail Khan, Ziauddin Ahmad, on Saturday visited various Imambargahs, Thallas and central Muharram procession routes to review security arrangements ahead of Muharram-ul-Haram.
The DPO was accompanied by SP City Muhammad Nauman and DSP City Malik Abid Iqbal during the visit. They inspected procession routes, entry and exit points, sensitive locations and other important security checkpoints across the city.
SHO Cantt Abdul Ghaffar Khan, SHO City Sinan Khan Niazi and DSB In-charge Muhammad Nisar Khan were also present on the occasion.
Police officers briefed the DPO on security deployment plans, traffic management measures, blocking points, search and sweep operations, walk-through gates, CCTV surveillance, emergency response mechanisms and other security arrangements put in place for Muharram.
Speaking on the occasion, DPO Ziauddin Ahmad directed officers and personnel to remain vigilant, maintain strict monitoring of suspicious individuals and ensure thorough checking at entry points. He also instructed police officials to treat members of the public with courtesy and professionalism.
He said maintaining peace and law and order during Muharram remained the police department’s top priority, adding that all available resources would be utilized to prevent any untoward incident.
The DPO further emphasized the need for foolproof security arrangements, effective traffic management and provision of maximum facilitation to mourners to ensure a peaceful atmosphere during religious observances.
He also directed police officers to maintain close coordination with the public and promote cooperation among people belonging to all schools of thought to strengthen religious harmony and communal peace.
