DIKhan admin engages religious scholars to ensure peaceful Muharram

Deputy Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan, Hikmatullah said that all possible measures were being taken to maintain law and order and promote religious harmony during Muharram-ul-Haram.

He expressed these views while holding separate meetings with delegations of prominent religious scholars and community elders at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office. District Police Officer (DPO) Ziauddin Ahmad accompanied the deputy commissioner during the meetings.
Officials from the district administration and security agencies also attended the sessions.
Speaking on the occasion, the deputy commissioner assured the participants that all decisions and arrangements finalized for Muharram would be implemented in letter and spirit. He emphasized that no one would be allowed to take the law into their own hands.
Hikmatullah urged religious scholars and community leaders to continue fostering the tradition of religious harmony and play their role in ensuring lasting peace in Dera Ismail Khan during the holy month.
He further stated that, in coordination with police and other law enforcement agencies, a comprehensive and foolproof security plan was being devised to provide maximum protection to mourners and ensure the peaceful observance of Muharram across the district.
The participants appreciated the administration’s efforts and reiterated their commitment to maintaining peace, unity and interfaith harmony during Muharram-ul-Haram.
