DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Jun 12 (APP): The residents, traders and members of the business community in Dera Ismail Khan have welcomed the Federal Budget 2025-26, describing it as people-centric, growth-oriented and a positive step towards economic stability and public welfare.
Citizens appreciated the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and the budget proposals presented by Federal Minister for Finance Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, saying the measures reflected the government’s commitment to economic recovery, public welfare and social protection.
The budget proposes a 7 percent increase in salaries and pensions of federal government employees, a 10 percent increase in the minimum monthly wage, and tax relief for the salaried class, including the abolition of the 9 percent surcharge.
Economic expert Muhammad Hanif said key economic indicators showed encouraging signs of recovery, including declining inflation, improving investor confidence and greater fiscal stability. He termed the budget a balanced document aimed at sustaining economic growth while providing relief to various segments of society.
A federal government employee serving at a federal educational institution, Gohar Sarwar, welcomed the 7 percent salary increase, saying the measure would provide much-needed financial relief to government employees facing rising household expenses. He expressed hope that the government’s economic policies would further improve living standards and strengthen employee welfare.
President of Markazi Anjuman Tajaran Dera Ismail Khan, Salam Sohail Ahmed Azmi, said the government had successfully managed energy supplies despite regional challenges and tensions, helping avert an energy crisis and maintain economic momentum.
Beneficiaries of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) also welcomed the increase in allocations to Rs838 billion, expressing hope that the enhanced support would improve the socio-economic conditions of vulnerable families across the country.
The citizens expressed optimism that the budgetary measures would strengthen economic activity, create employment opportunities and contribute to long-term national development.
