DCC orders crackdown on drugs, illegal weapons and online gambling
ABBOTTABAD, Jul 13 (APP):District Coordination Committee (DCC), chaired by Deputy Commissioner Sarmad Saleem Akram, has directed authorities to intensify action against drug trafficking, illegal weapons, unauthorised SIM cards, online gambling and other criminal activities to strengthen law and order in the district.
The meeting assessed progress under the National Action Plan and Provincial Action Plan and emphasised greater coordination among law enforcement agencies.
Officials also discussed monitoring social media and cyberspace, curbing hate material, expediting the registration of unregistered seminaries, preventing drug use in educational institutions and stopping forest timber smuggling.
The deputy commissioner instructed all relevant departments to ensure strict enforcement of the law, enhance public safety and utilize all available resources to protect young people from crime and harmful online activities.
