DC Astore, AC Shounter review compensation process for affected properties along Goreekot–Shaghurthang Road

Deputy Commissioner Astore Madam Neelam Ali and Assistant Commissioner Shounter Taufeeq Ahmed visited the Goreekot–Shaghurthang Road project site and reviewed in detail the ongoing work being carried out by the revenue team tasked with preparing compensation for land and properties affected by the project.

ASTORE, Aug 21 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Astore Madam Neelam Ali and Assistant Commissioner Shounter Taufeeq Ahmed visited the Goreekot–Shaghurthang Road project site and reviewed in detail the ongoing work being carried out by the revenue team tasked with preparing compensation for land and properties affected by the project.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner received a detailed briefing from the concerned revenue officials regarding the survey being conducted for compensation, identification of affected land and properties, completion and verification of records, and other legal and administrative matters.
She directed the relevant authorities to expedite the compensation process on an emergency basis and complete it at the earliest.
The Deputy Commissioner further directed that all records, survey reports and necessary documents related to compensation be submitted to the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Astore, without delay, so that the process of payment of compensation to the affected people could be completed in a timely manner without any unnecessary delays.
She said that the Goreekot–Shaghurthang Road is an important public-interest project, the completion of which would significantly improve transportation, connectivity and public facilities in the area.
She emphasized that transparency, merit and strict compliance with rules and regulations would be ensured in all matters relating to land and properties affected by development projects, while the legitimate rights of the affected people would be fully protected.
On the occasion, Assistant Commissioner Shounter Taufeeq Ahmed directed the revenue team to complete all surveys, verification of records and compensation-related proceedings at the earliest in accordance with the prescribed rules and regulations.
He instructed the field staff to perform their duties diligently and ensure the timely provision of all required information and documents to the concerned office.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed the concerned officers to monitor the compensation process continuously and regularly keep the district administration informed about progress.
She stressed that timely payment of legitimate compensation to the affected people, alongside the continued implementation of the Goreekot–Shaghurthang Road project, should be ensured so that development activities proceed according to schedule.
