DC Abbottabad vows best Eid-ul-Adha arrangements, safety, tourist facilities across district

ABBOTTABAD, May 12 (APP): Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad Sarmad Saleem Akram has said that all available resources will be utilized to ensure excellent arrangements for Eid-ul-Adha and uninterrupted facilities for citizens and tourists across the district.
He expressed these views while chairing an important meeting on Eid-ul-Adha arrangements and tourist facilitation, where preparations regarding sanitation, traffic management, security, cattle markets, emergency response, and tourist facilities were reviewed in detail. Officials from all relevant departments attended the meeting.
The DC directed that suitable locations for cattle markets should be identified immediately, and strict action should be taken against the illegal placement of sacrificial animals on highways. He warned that in case of violations, the animals would be confiscated.
He instructed all TMOs and concerned staff to remain active in the field during Eid days to ensure effective cleanliness arrangements. He also emphasized the timely disposal of animal waste at designated dumping sites to maintain a clean environment.
He directed that basic facilities such as drinking water, lighting, and other amenities must be ensured at cattle markets, while transport availability and enforcement of official fare lists during Eid holidays should also be strictly implemented.
DC Abbottabad also ordered that organizations collecting sacrificial animal hides must obtain NOCs within the stipulated timeframe to ensure compliance with legal and administrative requirements.
He stressed that cleanliness at Eid prayer sites, smooth traffic flow, and maximum facilitation for tourists at recreational spots must be ensured. He added that heavy machinery should remain available at key roads and sensitive tourist locations to deal with any emergency situation promptly.
The meeting also reviewed strict action against aerial firing, one-wheeling, and underage driving on Chaand Raat, along with deployment of tourist police, establishment of facilitation desks, availability of recovery vehicles, and special traffic management plans.
He reaffirmed the enforcement of Section 144 regarding bathing and boating in rivers, while ensuring 24-hour presence of health staff at facilitation centers.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed the identification and removal of trees posing risks to public safety and infrastructure, reiterating that all possible steps would be taken to ensure a peaceful, safe, and well-managed Eid-ul-Adha in the district.
