CM directs to complete upgradation of DHQ Hospitals by end of current fiscal year

PESHAWAR, Jul 09 (APP): Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mohammad Suhail Khan Afridi on Thursday chaired a meeting to review progress on rehabilitation and upgradation of District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospitals of the province.
The CM directed relevant authorities to complete these projects by the end of current fiscal year and said that no further delay in the public welfare initiative would be tolerated.
During the meeting, officials informed the meeting that four separate PC-I schemes worth Rs33.085 billion have already been approved for rehabilitation and upgradation of 32 DHQ hospitals throughout KP.
The meeting was further informed that the procurement of modern medical equipment worth Rs2.55 billion has been completed and the equipment has already been supplied to the respective hospitals.
Officials also stated that the infrastructure designs for the hospitals have been approved while civil works are expected to commence shortly.
Directing the concerned departments to accelerate implementation, CM instructed that hospitals where work is near completion should be prioritized and made operational for public use as soon as possible.
He also directed officials to immediately identify and remove obstacles hindering the project’s progress stressing that unnecessary delays would not be accepted under any circumstances.
CM announced that the project’s progress would be reviewed again after three months reiterating that rehabilitation and upgradation of DHQ hospitals, establishment of proposed Health City remains one of the provincial government’s top priorities.
