Armed group allegedly disrupts PESCO operation at Sarai Naurang grid station

PESHAWAR, Oct 05 (APP):An armed group allegedly entered the Sarai Naurang Grid Station in Lakki Marwat and forced PESCO officials to restore power supply to four high-loss feeders, disrupting the ongoing campaign against electricity theft and outstanding dues.
According to a PESCO release issued here on Monday, Malik Waqar Khan, accompanied by armed security guards, entered the grid station late night and allegedly pressured the staff to switch on the Ghoriwala, Kot Pasha, Nar Jaffar and Kaki feeders.
Waqar Khan claimed Malik Hikmat Yar sent him to restore the feeders. They added that Malik Hikmat Yar is the brother of Malik Pakhtun Yar.
PESCO said the four feeders have been reporting losses of more than 80 percent, mainly due to electricity theft and non-payment of bills.
The company said its teams were conducting an operation in the area to control power theft, improve bill recovery and bring down the exceptionally high losses on these feeders.
