Abbottabad University to establish modern research laboratories under ADP 2026–27

The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has approved a Rs. 200 million project under the Annual Development Programme (ADP) 2026–27 for the establishment of state-of-the-art laboratories at the Abbottabad University of Science and Technology (AUST).

ABBOTTABAD, Jul 06 (APP):The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has approved a Rs. 200 million project under the Annual Development Programme (ADP) 2026–27 for the establishment of state-of-the-art laboratories at the Abbottabad University of Science and Technology (AUST).
The project, secured through the efforts of Vice Chancellor Dr. Tahir Irfan, will see the establishment of Advanced Materials and Mineral Processing Laboratories aimed at strengthening the university’s research infrastructure and promoting scientific innovation.
According to official documents, Rs. 30.009 million has been allocated for the 2026–27 fiscal year, while the remaining Rs. 169.991 million will be released in subsequent financial years.
The new laboratories are expected to provide students with advanced practical training opportunities, enhance research in advanced materials and mineral processing, and help produce a skilled workforce capable of meeting industrial requirements.
Academics and education experts have welcomed the initiative, describing it as a significant step towards enhancing the university’s research capacity and promoting scientific and technological development in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
