Abbottabad administration reviews security, municipal arrangements for 7th Muharram procession

In preparation for the 7th Muharram procession, the district administration and police on Monday conducted a detailed inspection of the procession route in Malikpura to review security and civic arrangements ahead of the religious event.

ABBOTTABAD, Jun 22 (APP):In preparation for the 7th Muharram procession, the district administration and police on Monday conducted a detailed inspection of the procession route in Malikpura to review security and civic arrangements ahead of the religious event.
Acting on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad Sarmad Saleem Akram, Assistant Commissioner Abbottabad Afrasiab Zubair Hundal, accompanied by SP Cantt Hamza Ali Butt, inspected the entire route and assessed security measures as well as municipal services.
During the visit, officials reviewed cleanliness and sanitation conditions, drainage systems, street lighting, removal of encroachments and other arrangements necessary for the smooth conduct of the procession.
Several locations requiring immediate attention were identified, and instructions were issued on the spot to the relevant departments and field staff for prompt action.
The officials directed concerned authorities to complete all necessary arrangements before the procession and ensure the availability of essential facilities, including functional street lights, proper sanitation and clearance of encroachments.
They were also instructed to maintain close coordination with the district administration and law enforcement agencies.
The district administration stated that comprehensive measures are being taken in collaboration with all relevant departments to maintain law and order during Muharram-ul-Haram, facilitate mourners and ensure the peaceful conduct of all religious gatherings and processions.
