200 forest personnel complete training at Thai Forest School

ABBOTTABAD, Aug 18 (APP):The 98th Passing-Out Parade of the Thai Forest School was held in Abbottabad, where 200 forest personnel successfully completed their training and formally entered practical service.
Provincial Adviser for Forests, Pir Musawir Khan Ghazi, senior Forest Department officials, and other authorities attended the ceremony.
Addressing the ceremony, Pir Musawir Khan Ghazi, said the provincial government had set a target of planting 1.4 million saplings across the province on August 14. However, with the participation of the Forest Department, other organisations and the public, around 90,000 people planted 1.792 million saplings, exceeding the target.
Principal and Conservator of Forests Tariq Shah said the Thai Forest School had played an important role in training Forest Department officers and personnel. He said more than 4,000 forest officers and personnel had received training from the institution so far.
Certificates and shields were distributed among personnel who demonstrated outstanding performance during their training.
Officials congratulated the newly trained personnel and urged them to effectively perform their duties for forest protection, promotion of tree plantation, and environmental conservation.
The provincial government and the Forest Department reaffirmed their commitment to protecting forests and increasing plantation activities to help address the impacts of climate change.
