MIRPUR (AJK), Oct 14 (APP):Marking World Day Against the Death Penalty, a global webinar titled “Justice for Yasin Malik” brought together human rights defenders, legal experts, and peace advocates from around the world.
“For the first time, members of Yasin Malik’s family, including his sister and campaign spokesperson Abida Malik, participated — making the event, hosted from Dallas, Texas, USA, deeply emotional and historic”, a message said, released to the media here on Tuesday.
The distinguished speakers included Dr. Rick Halperin Head of Department of Human rights program at SMU University Texas and former president of Amnesty International, who leads the global campaign, Beverly Hill, Bill, President of World wide campaign for women rights Bill Maxwell former President of Dallas Peace and Justice Center, Aftab Siddiqui present President of DPJC, Philip Bennion, ( former MEP ) Patricia Murphy DPJC, Barister Toseef Kamal of American Bar Association and others.
Moderated by Kazi Mujeeb and Javed Iqbal, the session called for Yasin Malik’s immediate release from New Delhi’s infamous Tihar Jail on humanitarian and legal grounds.
Raja Muzaffar, Coordinator and Chairman of Kashmir Committee at Dallas Peace and Justice Center of the Justice for Yasin Malik Campaign, said that this was not just a seminar — it was a global voice of conscience rising for justice, peace, and human dignity.
A global event brought together 58 participants from around the world, who shared messages of solidarity and support.
