ISLAMABAD, Sep 07 (APP):The Tehreek Shabab-ul-Muslimeen Jammu and Kashmir has called for protection of the land, identity, culture and political rights of the people of Kashmir.
According to a press release issued here Monday, the group urged the international community to implement United Nations resolutions on Kashmir, describing it as a step towards a “just solution” and lasting peace.
They alleged that demographic changes in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), including the settlement of non-locals and changes in residency rights, could affect the region’s demographic composition.
It further claimed that such measures threatened the cultural and political identity of Kashmiris and urged protection of their rights.
The group said, “A people’s identity cannot be erased by occupation,” and emphasized unity and resistance for what it described as a better future for Kashmir.
“Kashmir is not for sale; it is a people’s homeland” said a press released.
The organization called for a free and peaceful Kashmir and reiterated its stated commitment to faith, unity, resistance and protection of Kashmiri identity.
