MIRPUR (AJK) , Feb 9 (APP):The 13th martyrdom anniversary of illustrious young Kashmir freedom struggle Leader, shaheed Afzal Guru on Monday was commemorated across Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) besides in various parts of Illegally Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) with full solemnity and reverence.
The valiant Kashmir freedom struggle leader Dr. Afzal Guru had been put to gallows this day 13 years ago in 2013 in New Delhi’s notorious Tihar Jail in a fake charge of attack on the Indian Parliament – mere for his “offence’’ of raising voice for the grant of Kashmiris legitimate right of self determination through liberation of the homeland from long Indian shackles.
The special ceremonies to pay tributes to the eminent hero of the Kashmir freedom struggle were held in all AJK district and tehsil headquarters including the State’s metropolis besides this lakeside city of Mirpur AJK.
The speakers while addressing a rally at central shaheed chowk in Mirpur AJK including Mirpur District Bar Association President, Advocate Mahmood Palakvi and leaders of various other segments of the civil society paid tributes to shaheed Kashmiri freedom fighter for giving supreme sacrifice of his life for the cause of liberation of the motherland from long Indian clutches.
They described the sad demise of Afzal Guru as judicial killing and worst violation of human rights at the hands of fascist India and her occupational forces in internationally acknowledged Indian Illegally occupied Jammu Kashmir State.
The speakers also paid glowing tributes to the veteran Kashmir freedom struggle leader, Muhammad Maqbool Butt on his martyrdom anniversaries being observed on February 11.
While paying rich tributes of shaheed Afzal Guru and Maqbool Butt , they said the martyrdom were an inseparable part of the ongoing Kashmir liberation movement and the Kashmiri people would protect the supreme sacrifices of their martyrs and take their mission to its logical end.
Veteran Kashmiri leader Advocate Azeem Dutt, meanwhile said tjat with all that brutality and cruelty in IIOJK, India could not kill the freedom loving sentiment of the people of Jammu and Kashmir – but strengthened the resolve and commitment of the Kashmiris towards their indigenous struggle for liberation of the motherland from long Indian illegal and forced occupation.
