ISLAMABAD, Nov 10 (APP):The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir People’s League (JKPL), Dr Musaib, and Vice Chairman Aijaz Rehmani strongly condemned the brutal raids, mass arrests, and cordon and search operations carried out by Indian forces across Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) during the past week.
In a joint statement issued in Srinagar, the JKPL leaders said that the fresh spate of house raids, detentions, and arbitrary arrests of pro-freedom activists and political workers represents the continuation of India’s policy of repression aimed at silencing the genuine political voice of the Kashmiri people. They denounced the harassment of families, including women and children, describing it as an inhumane tactic to spread fear and suppress the peaceful struggle for self-determination, said a press release on Monday.
Dr Musaib and Aijaz Rehmani said that despite the heavy militarization, widespread intimidation, and mass arrests, the people of Jammu and Kashmir remain steadfast in their just and legitimate cause.
They emphasized that such oppressive actions could not crush the spirit of resistance or weaken the unwavering resolve of the Kashmiri nation seeking freedom from illegal occupation.
The JKPL leaders urged the United Nations, international human rights organizations, and global powers to take immediate notice of the alarming situation in IIOJK.
They called for an end to the ongoing raids and mass arrests, the release of all detained political activists, and the restoration of the civil and political rights of the Kashmiri people.
