MIRPUR, Oct 09 (APP):Commissioner Mirpur Division Chaudhry Mukhtar Hussain on Thursday inaugurated the newly installed latest solar system and computer lab at Government Girls Degree College in Thothal established under the CSR initiative of Laraib Power Energy Limited, it was officially said.
On this occasion, Divisional Director of Colleges Professor Uzma Farooq, Principal Ms. Shazia Ayub, Manager (retd) of Laraib Sohail Aslam Gul, representatives of the college administration, and students were also present.
Addressing the ceremony, Commissioner Chaudhry Mukhtar Hussain said that under CSR, various projects have been completed by Laraib Power Energy Limited in Mirpur city.
Uzma highly appreciated the provision of 18 kV solar panels and computers to Government Girls Degree College Thothal and said that this will also provide full support for IT education to the students studying in the college, where electricity load shedding will be relieved. She further said that Laraib is also constructing 15 schools under CSR, for which we are grateful.
Commissioner Mukhtar Hussain said that the profession of education and training was of utmost importance. He continued that in the present era, it was the important responsibility of teachers to educate and train the new generation and develop their intellectual horizons on modern lines and enlighten them about the Kashmir freedom movement, the ideology of Kashmir’s accession to Pakistan, and the religion of Islam, he added.
