Muzaffarabad, Jan 3 (APP): A high-level delegation of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), led by its Secretary Information Mushtaq Ahmad Butt, visited the Heer Kotli refugee camp in Muzaffarabad, where it held detailed meetings with camp president Malik Shehbaz and representatives of the Students’ Wing.

The delegation also held an important exchange of views with Nazakat Butt in Chehla Bandi.

The visit was part of outreach efforts ahead of the protest rally scheduled for January 5—observed as the Right to Self-Determination Day—at Shaheed Afzal Guru Chowk, Domel. During the meetings, the Hurriyat delegation briefed participants on the background, objectives, and political significance of the upcoming rally.

The delegation stated that the protest aims to serve as a strong reminder of the Kashmiri people’s internationally recognized right to self-determination, as enshrined in United Nations resolutions. It added that the rally seeks to demand practical steps toward a just and lasting resolution of the Kashmir dispute.

The delegation emphasized that meaningful, result-oriented measures are urgently required.

According to the delegation, the January 5 protest rally will serve as the collective voice of the Kashmiri people and will convey to the global community that the Kashmir issue can no longer be delayed. It urged the United Nations to ensure the immediate implementation of its own resolutions.

On the occasion, Malik Shehbaz and representatives of the Students’ Wing assured the delegation of full, organized, and effective participation in the rally. They stated that Kashmiri refugees, particularly the youth, stand shoulder to shoulder with the Hurriyat leadership in the struggle for the right to self-determination. They reaffirmed their commitment to mobilizing all available resources to make the January 5 rally a success and to raise a strong voice in favor of the Kashmiri people.

At the conclusion, the Hurriyat delegation thanked the refugee leadership and student representatives and expressed hope that through mutual coordination and collective struggle, the Kashmir issue would be highlighted more effectively at the international level, paving the way for securing the Kashmiri people’s birthright, legitimate, and universally acknowledged right.

The delegation also included senior leader Syed Gulshan Ahmad, Syed Mushtaq Hussain, and young leaders Munir Qureshi and Zubair Khan.
