MIRPUR, May 17 (APP):In the Azad Jammu Kashmir state’s metropolis, “Thanksgiving Day” was celebrated on Friday in acknowledgement of the landslide success of Operation “Banyan Marsus,” resulting in a convincing defeat of the Indian aggression.
On the occasion of Thanksgiving Day, a gratitude rally was held under the auspices of the civil society in AJK’s metropolis from the District Complex to Burhan Wani Chowk. Government Minister Professor Taqdis Gilani and Chief Secretary AJK Khushal Khan, besides elite representatives of all segments of civil society, attended.
Citizens participated in the gratitude rally in large numbers. The rally turned into a mammoth gathering at Burhan Wani Chowk.
Addressing the rally speakers, including Hurriyat leaders Uzair Ahmed Ghazali, Mushtaqul Islam, Commissioner Muzaffarabad Division Chaudhry Guftar Hussain, Mayor Municipal Corporation Syed Sikandar Gilani, Deputy Commissioner Mudassar Farooq, SSP Riaz Haider Bukhari, Yasir Naqvi, Shaukat Javed Mir, Samia Sajid, leaders of various political parties, businessmen, private and public sector employees, students, and lawyers’ leaders, paid tribute to the brave forces of Pakistan for their brilliant victory.
The mammoth congregation echoed with slogans of “We are Pakistanis, Pakistan is ours, and Pak forces are alive.”
Participants on this occasion prayed for the high status of the martyrs in heaven for the security and stability of Pakistan and the success of the Kashmir freedom movement.
