AJK to introduce one-window operation for investors, says Gilani

He said the government would introduce a one-window operation to simplify the registration process and enable investors to access essential services and complete the necessary formalities at a single location.
The prime minister expressed these views while chairing a meeting of the Department of Industries and Mineral Resources hereon Friday, where he was briefed on the department’s affairs and ongoing initiatives.
Minister for Industries, Commerce, Mineral Resources and Tourism Chaudhry Abdul Rehman, Principal Secretary and Secretary Industries Sardar Adnan Khurshid, Deputy Secretary Raja Zaheer Mukhtar and other relevant officials attended the meeting.
Gilani said the government was committed to creating a conducive environment for industrial growth and investment. He added that resolving the issues faced by investors was among the government’s top priorities.
Directing the Department of Mineral Resources to facilitate investors, the prime minister called for simplifying procedures for both large- and small-scale mining leases. He also directed the relevant authorities to streamline the registration of industrial plots and other related requirements.
He said the proposed one-window operation would provide investors with essential services under one roof, while issues concerning industrial plot registration and other investment-related matters would be addressed on a priority basis.
The prime minister emphasized that industrial development was crucial to accelerating economic growth, expanding business activities and generating new employment opportunities in Azad Kashmir.
He said the government would continue to introduce investment-friendly policies and take measures to expand the industrial sector and strengthen the local economy.
Gilani also directed the Department of Industries and Mineral Resources to focus on effectively utilizing the region’s mineral potential to support economic development and create further opportunities for investment and employment.
