MIRPUR, Jul 07 (APP):Azad Jammu Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq visited the central Imambargah Pir Alam Shah Bukhari in the state metropolis on the sacred occasion of Shab e Ashura Sunday night, it was officially said.
The Prime Minister, according to an official statement issued by the AJK government on Monday, was accompanied by government ministers Nisar Ansar Abdali and Syed Bazal Ali Naqvi, former government minister Barrister Iftikhar Gilani, and the city mayor, Syed Sikandar Gilani, attended the majlis, and spent some time with mourners.
Later, the PM also toured different parts of the capital city to review the security arrangements regarding Muharram-ul-Haram. The PM directed the authorities concerned to keep a close vigil on elements attempting to incite sectarian hatred by misusing social media. He said that the state machinery and law enforcement agencies must stay on high alert to deal with any unforeseen situation.
“Nobody will be allowed to disrupt peace in the region,” he said. He reiterated his government’s commitment to protect the lives and property of people. He called for promoting religious harmony to foster an environment of unity and atmosphere across the liberated territory.
