MIRPUR (AJK, Jul 22 (APP):Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Minister for Mangla Dam’s Affairs and Mangla Dam Housing Authority (MDHA), Chaudhry Qasim Majeed has inaugurated the mass monsoon season tree plantation campaign by planting a sapling at the lawns of Mangla Dam Housing Authority .
The minister said that in view of the increasing losses due to current climate change, maximum national tree plantation should be done so that the negative effects of changing weather conditions could be reduced.
” Trees alone can bring about changes in the environment, ” he said, seeking maximum tree plantation in New City Mirpur, Islamgarh, Chakswari, and Dadayal under the auspices of Mangla Dam Housing Authority, since more rains are expected in the current rainy season, due to which the tree plantation campaign could emerge to be be more successful.
Commissioner Mirpur Division, Chaudhry Mukhtar Hussain, Director Admin MDHA, Chaudhry Amjad Iqbal, Director Works MDHA, and SC Highways Engineer Inamul Haque also planted various types of saplings, joining the drive.
Deputy Director, Estate Management Mangla Dam Housing Authority Chaudhry Sajid Aslam, Deputy Director, Building Control Mangla Dam Housing Authority, Muhammad Saqib Hussain were also present on the occasion.
