AJK govt announces phased restoration of internet services from Aug 31

The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government on Monday announced phased restoration of internet services across various districts, subject to the prevailing security situation.

MIRPUR, Aug 31 (APP): The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government on Monday announced phased restoration of internet services across various districts, subject to the prevailing security situation.
According to a notification issued by the AJK Home Department, the phased restoration will begin from August 31. However, internet services will remain completely suspended in Rawalakot and Sudhanoti districts.In Neelum Valley, DSL, 3G and 4G services will be fully restored. Similar services will also be fully restored in Leepa Valley.In Muzaffarabad and Jhelum Valley, DSL services will be restored for educational institutions and banks.
In Bagh, DSL services will be available only to educational institutions and banks in the city and Dhirkot.The government has also decided to fully restore DSL, 3G and 4G services in Haveli Kahuta. DSL services will be restored throughout Mirpur and Bhimber districts.In Kotli, DSL services will be restored for educational institutions and banks.
The Home Department said areas of Sehnsa, Sarsawa, Baloch and Tatta Pani would remain excluded from DSL service restoration.According to officials, institutions placed on the whitelist will be required to submit an affidavit regarding the use of internet services.The Home Department said the restoration had been made subject to state interests and national security, and services in different areas would be restored in phases depending on the overall situation.
