MIRPUR (AJK), Mar 15 (APP):As many as 21,961 AJK Women Benefited of Rs. 318.4 Million Financial Assistance in 03 Days Under the ongoing BISP-Sponsored Benazir Kafaalat Program in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
“The Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) is successfully conducting the payment process under the Benazir Kafaalat Program across AJK”, reported by APP correspondent on Sunday.
The correspondent continued that during the holy month of Ramadan, large numbers of eligible women have been visiting designated payment points and specially established campsites to receive their financial assistance, while BISP staff continue to facilitate and guide beneficiaries efficiently.
Speaking at a campsite, Wajid Rafique Choudhry, Media and Communication Officer of BISP Azad Jammu & Kashmir, informed beneficiaries about the payment procedures and program details.
He highlighted that the Government of Pakistan has increased the Benazir Kafaalat financial assistance from Rs. 13,500 to PKR 14,500 to provide additional support to deserving families.
According to official figures, 135,732 eligible women are set to benefit during this phase of the program. In just the three days, 21,961 women have already received their payments, representing nearly 16% of the total beneficiaries. A total of PKR 318.4 million has been disbursed so far, with remaining payments being made in a phased manner.
Several beneficiaries expressed their gratitude, saying: “Receiving timely financial assistance under the Benazir Income Support Program before Eid-ul-Fitr is a tremendous support for families like ours. We are deeply thankful to Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and BISP Chairperson Rubina Khalid for their efforts in ensuring that we receive this help on time. This support not only adds joy to our Eid celebrations but also helps us manage our children’s expenses and other essential needs.”
