International community urged to stop Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir

ISLAMABAD, Oct 27 (APP):Speakers at a seminar here on Saturday called upon the international community to play their role to stop atrocities and brutalities of occupied Indian forces against innocent, unarmed and peaceful people of Kashmir, which were struggling for their just right of self determination.
They strongly condemned the extra judicial killings, forced disappearances and increasing numbers of rape cases, torturing the young and elderly man and women in guise of so called search operation.
They were addressing a Seminar “Fresh Indian machinations to perpetuate illegal occupation and how to respond,” which was organized by the Senate Standing Committee on Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan.
The event was organized in order to mark the October 27 as Black Day for expressing the solidarity with Kashmiris against Indian aggression and occupation in Kashmir on the same day of 1947.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman of the Committee Senator Professor Sajid Mir said that the October 27 was the blackest day in the history of Sub-Continent when on a fake document of accession, the India was provided an opportunity to land their forces and occupied the Kashmir.
He said that Indian aggression and brutalities of its forces have so far martyred over 500,000 un-armed civilians, widowed over 23,000 women and more then 100,000 children orphaned and were deprived from the love of their fathers.
He said that India itself had taken the Kashmir issue in United Nations and promised that the matter would be resolved as according to the aspirations of the people of Kashmir and they would be given the right of self determination to decide their fate.
Professor Mir said that there were more then 20 resolution about Kashmir was pending in UN Security Council, in which it was clearly determined that the people of Kashmir would be given the right to chose their destination.
He stressed the need for expediting the diplomatic efforts in order to highlight the Kashmir issue in international forums and aware the world about the effects of the long standing issue among two
nuclear states, which could jeopardized the peace of whole world.
He asked for establishing special Kashmir cells in all embassies across the world, besides opening special units on Kashmir in ministries of Foreign Affairs and Kashmir to strongly highlighting the issue in diverting the worlds attention towards violation of basic human rights by the Indian forces in occupied Kashmir.
Addressing the seminar, Senator Lieutenant General (R) Abdul Qayyum said that in first time in last 70 years, the UN Commission on Human Rights had issued a report consisting on 45 pages and highlighted the brutalities by the Indian forces and asked for a establishing an independent commission to investigate the basic human right violation.
He said that whole nation salute the courage and struggle of the people of Kashmir and stand united behind them for their just cause of freedom and continued its political, diplomatic and moral supports.
The Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and President also spoke on the occasion and thanked the people and government of Pakistan for their unflinching supports for the people of Kashmir for their birth right of self determination.
