QUETTA, Aug 17 (APP): Federal Minister for Planning and
Development, Ahsan Iqbal Wednesday said Indian Prime Minister’s
recent statements had exposed its nefarious designs to damage
Pakistan’s interests.

He expressed the confidence that India could not challenge
and weaken this powerful country.

He said Pakistan is a free and independent county. “Our
armed forces and state institutions are alert to face and foil
the nefarious designs of enemies” he added.

He was speaking to media persons at the Balochistan High
Court premises.

He visited Balochistan Bar Council and condoled with the
lawyer leaders on killings of lawyers in Quetta civil hospital
suicide blast incident. He expressed his deep sorrow and grief
over the Quetta tragedy.

The Federal Minister said that enemies of Pakistan were
involved in hatching conspiracies to put hurdles and obstacles
in execution of China Pak Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.

“Nefarious designs and conspiracies of our enemies against
CPEC will be foiled at any cost and CPEC would be implemented
in letter and spirit,” he said.

“CPEC will not roll back. Pakistan will get central
position in the region after implementation of CPEC projects.”
The Minister said that law and order situation has
improved markedly as foreign investors had started heading
towards Pakistan to invest in different sectors.

“Few years back, investors and industrialists were
reluctant but now they had started to invest in different
sectors,” he added.

He said that the government would provide compensation
to the families of victims of Quetta civil hospital suicide
blast.
