High-level UAE delegation’s visit indication of new beginning in bilateral ties: FM

ISLAMABAD, Oct 26 (APP):Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi Friday said that the visit of a high- level UAE delegation was an indication of a new beginning in the bilateral relations and would increase UAE’s footprint in a number of sectors in Pakistan.
The foreign minister was talking to members of a high-level UAE delegation comprising CEOs/senior officials of major companies, including Mobadla Petroleum, ADIA (Sovereign Wealth Funds), Etisalat, DP World, Dubai Investment Authority, Emaar Company, Aldahra Agriculture and Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, who called on him.
The delegation headed by Dr. Sultan Aljaber, Minister of State and CEO of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), is on a one-day visit to Pakistan, at the invitation of Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
The visit is a follow up of the Prime Minister’s official visit to Abu Dhabi on 19 September and his understanding with Crown Prince Sheikh Muhammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to forge closer economic, trade and investment relations between the two countries in all areas of common interest.
Lauding the excellence achieved by UAE in renewable energy, petroleum and petrochemicals, sea water desalination, agricultural research, infrastructure development and hospitality industry, in a short span of time, the foreign minister urged greater cooperation between the two countries in these areas for sharing experiences and best practices.
Looking forward to the much anticipated visit of Muhammad Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan to Pakistan, he expressed satisfaction with the steady progress of bilateral relations, following the Prime Minister’s visit to Abu Dhabi last month.
Referring to Foreign Minister, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s invitation for participation in Sir BaniYas Forum next month, the foreign minister expressed his keen desire to engage closely with UAE leadership, to bring the two brotherly countries and their people closer together.
Foreign Minister Qureshi conveyed his profound regards and best wishes for the leadership of UAE and his prayers for the continued peace, progress and prosperity of its brotherly people.
