Govt does not believe in political victimization: Ch Sarwar


FAISALABAD, Mar 20 (APP)::Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar said on Wednesday the PTI government didn’t not believe in politics of victimization as it had not got registered cases against Nawaz Sharif, Shahabaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari.
Talking to the media after attending an MoU signing ceremony at The University of Faisalabad (TUF), he said that all cases were registered during the period of previous regime and the PTI government was only acting in accordance with the law.
He said that everyone was equal under law while the accountability institutions were independent and sovereign in deciding their own course without any political interference.
Regarding privilege of perks of MPAs, he said that he had not yet received bill in this regard, however, he would decide it strictly in the best national interests.
Responding to a question, the Governor Punjab said that anyone could fall victim to weakness or disease and it should not be exploited or politicized.
He said that a high level medical board has been constituted for the treatment of Nawaz Sharif and the government would act upon the decision taken by the competent court in the light of recommendations by the medical board.
Earlier, the Governor chaired a meeting at TUF where a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between TUF and the University of Health Sciences Lahore for mutual cooperation in research and development.
Pro-rector TUF Prof Dr Muhammad Saeed and Vice Chancellor UHSL Prof Dr Javed Akram signed the MoU on behalf of their institutions.
Chairman Board of Governors TUF Muhammad Haidar Amin, Registrar UHSL Dr Asad Zaheer, Patron-in-Chief Madina Group Mian Muhammad Haneef and others were also present on the occasion.
