Ways to step up Belarus-Uganda contacts discussed in Ministry of Foreign Affairs

MINSK, Aug 7 (BelTA/APP): Belarusian First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lukashevich met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uganda to Belarus with the residence in Moscow Moses Kiwaaluuko Kizige on 6 August, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.

During the negotiations the parties discussed practical aspects of realization of the agreements reached when the prime minister of the Republic of Belarus visited Uganda in February 2025. The parties paid close attention to measures designed to ensure economic returns and concrete results from cooperation in the short term as soon as possible.

The first deputy minister of foreign affairs and the ambassador agreed to step up joint events and the exchange of visits at various levels between Belarus and Uganda by the end of 2025, including visits of delegations of business circles.

During the meeting the parties reaffirmed Minsk’s and Kampala’s determination to actively interact in multilateral international structures, primarily on platforms of the United Nations Organization, the Non-Aligned Movement, and BRICS.
