Uzbekistan-US discuss partnership in mining sector

WASHINGTON, Nov 07 (UzA/APP) : During the official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to the United States of America, meetings were held with executives of leading American industrial corporations interested in expanding investment and technological cooperation.
Peter Flanagan, Head of Capital Sales and Key Accounts at FLSmidth, emphasized that the President’s visit has opened new opportunities for developing bilateral partnerships in the mining sector and for industrial modernization. He noted that FLSmidth is actively working in Uzbekistan, notably participating in the development of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex, where the company is assisting in bringing production to full capacity through the implementation of advanced American technologies. The company sees significant potential in the future development of Uzbekistan’s mining industry.
FLSmidth representative also stressed that the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan are contributing to an improved business climate and increased interest from foreign investors.
According to him, the country’s economic and investment environment has greatly improved under President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s leadership, making Uzbekistan an attractive destination for investment and business operations. FLSmidth confirmed its intention to continue cooperation in the country.
