Uzbekistan to benefit through CPEC: Analysts

ISLAMABAD,Nov 18 (APP): Pakistan and Uzbekistan enjoy multi-faceted ties and both the countries were making sincere efforts to further cement bilatweral relations.
These observations were made by analysts while speaking in Radio Pakistan’s current affairs programme.Mushtaq Ahmed Mehr, Former Ambassador said, during the recent visit of
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to Uzbekistan many agreements in different sectors were signed with Uzbek government.
He said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was focusing to improve bilateral
trade relations with all the countries of the region. All the countries were eyeing on Gwadar port which would be the busiest port after completion of China Pakistan Economic Corridor.
Senior analyst, Dr. Zahid Anwar said, both Pakistan and Uzbekistan were
making sincere efforts to improve bilateral relation. Uzbekistan would also be benefitted through China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Other countries of the region including Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan
would also be part of this mega project and trade relations between all the countries of the region would improve, he observed.
He said Pakistan has been facing energy crisis and Uzbekistan
could support Pakistan to overcome this challenge.
Industrialist Mirza Ikhtiyar Baig said the present government’s foreign
policies was going in right direction as many heads of different countries
visited Pakistan during past two years.
Foreign investors, he said, were now well motivated to invest in
different development projects in Pakistan. Uzbekistan is a rich country in energy sector and could support Pakistan to overcome energy crisis.
Economist, Dr. Shahid Hassan Siddiqui said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif
has been taking personal interest to improve the trade relations with other
countries. It is the result of the PM’s efforts that economy of the country was improving day by day.
