LONDON, Sep 10 (APP):The United Kingdom Pakistani Kashmiri Councillors Forum (UKPKCF) on Monday lauding the efforts of Prime Minister Imran Khan for his initiative of building dams to overcome future water crisis in the country and assured its full financial support for the soico-economic prosperity of Pakistan.
“We apprecite Prime Minister Imran Khan’s initiative for building of new dams to overcome the future water shortages in Pakistan as population was growing rapidily and our agriculture sector also needs water”, Alderman Mushtaq Lashari CBE UK Coordinator of UKPKCF told APP here Monday.
Pakistan, he said should immediately start building Diamer-Basha Dam and other dams to resolve the future water problems in the country.
Mushataq Lashari said that British-Pakistani diaspora was ready to extend every possible financial support to Prime Minister Imran Khan in his intiative for building the dams for the benefit of the country.
In this connection a conference on third world solidarity and UKPKCF would be held at Pakistan Community
Center Reading in which UKMP Matt Rodda ,community leaders Local councillors and businessmen would attend.
Mushtaq Lashari said that Pakistan was an agricultural country and 70 percent of foods and exports
were dependant on availability of water.
It was therefore necessary that new dams and reservoirs should be built in Pakistan for securing the
future of Pakistan and its people.
People were also facing drinking water shortage and building of dams was necessary to overcome the issue.
He added that British-Pakistanis had in the past also financially supported Imran Khan in the form of donations for
his cancer hospitals and this time they would also generously support him on his dams initiative for the cause of the country.
