ISLAMABAD, Nov 7 (APP):The Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Islamabad celebrated the birth anniversary of Pakistan’s national poet, Allama Muhammad Iqbal with a special event titled “Muhammad Iqbal: The Great Poet of the East.”

According to a press release issued here on Friday, the ceremony began with the inauguration of a photo exhibition called “Common Heroes,” organized by the Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Centre.
The exhibition was opened by Ambassador of Türkiye to Pakistan H.E. Dr. Irfan Neziroglu, Chairman of the Rahmatul-lil-Alamin Authority Mr. Khursid Ahmad Nadeem, Chairman of the Iqbal Council Mr. Zulfiqar Cheema, and Prof. Dr. Halil Toker, Türkiye Coordinator of the Yunus Emre Centres in Pakistan.
Speaking at the event, Ambassador Dr. Irfan Neziroglu highlighted the strong friendship between Türkiye and Pakistan. He praised Allama Iqbal as a great thinker and poet whose ideas continue to inspire the Muslim world.
Mr. Khursid Ahmad Nadeem spoke about Iqbal’s deep affection for Türkiye and his interest in the concept of ijtihad and the foundation of the Republic of Türkiye. Mr. Zulfiqar Cheema also paid tribute to Iqbal’s efforts for the spiritual awakening of the Muslim Ummah.
The event showcased the long-standing cultural and intellectual bond between Türkiye and Pakistan, two nations connected by shared history, values and vision.
