Tunisia: AfricaCrypt 2026 to be held in Hammamet July 8 to 10

The 17th edition of AfricaCrypt 2026, the annual international conference on cryptography and cybersecurity, will be held in Hammamet from July 8 to 10.

TUNIS, Jul 6 (TAP/APP):The 17th edition of AfricaCrypt 2026, the annual international conference on cryptography and cybersecurity, will be held in Hammamet from July 8 to 10.
Organised at the initiative of the International Association for Cryptologic Research (IACR), the event will bring together researchers, experts and academics from several countries to discuss current challenges in digital security.
This year’s edition will highlight the latest scientific and technological advances in cryptography and cybersecurity. Participants will exchange views on the challenges posed by the rapid evolution of digital technologies, particularly the emergence of quantum computing, which is gradually challenging traditional cryptographic systems.
Discussions will also focus on the development of innovative solutions to protect critical infrastructure and sensitive data, as well as the transition to new post-quantum cryptography standards.
The conference is jointly organised by the University of Tunis and the Tunisian Military Research Centre, with the support of the Tunisian Mathematical Society and the Mediterranean Society of Mathematical Sciences, in collaboration with the doctoral schools of the Universities of Monastir and Sousse.
Ahead of the conference, a summer school on post-quantum cryptography will be held on July 6 and 7. Intended for young researchers from Africa and beyond, the programme will cover the foundations of next-generation cryptography and present the main families of algorithms designed to withstand the future computing capabilities of quantum computers.
It aims to prepare the next generation of scientists for future cybersecurity challenges and encourage the development of innovative research in this strategic field.
