Riyadh,, Nov 5 (SPA/APP): The first day of the 2025 UCI Urban Cycling World Championships kicked off on Tuesday at Boulevard City in Riyadh, marking the Kingdom’s first-ever hosting of the event. The championship is organized by the Saudi Cycling Federation under the supervision of the Ministry of Sport.
The event runs until Saturday, November 8, featuring more than 230 male and female cyclists from over 40 countries, including a lineup of top international cycling stars.
On the first day of the championship, Spain claimed first place and the gold medal in the Trials Mixed Team category, delivering an outstanding performance that combined strength, precision, and balance. Germany secured second place and the silver medal, while France took third place with the bronze in a highly competitive and energetic atmosphere featuring some of the world’s leading cycling athletes.
The championship continues today with the qualifying rounds for the BMX Freestyle Park and Flatland categories, featuring elite international riders, including former continental and world champions.
Hosting the championship in the Kingdom for the first time reflects its efforts to strengthen its global sporting presence and attract major international events.
