South African scholar Shiekh Hasan Mursi visits NBF

ISLAMABAD, Oct 27 (APP): Member of International Blinds Welfare
Organization and ‘Mohtamim Madrasa Al Noor’ South Africa Shiekh Hasan A Mursi on Tuesday visited National Book Foundation (NBF).
Appreciating the Foundation for initiating special scheme for visually
impaired persons, he said that the NBF is offering great services to visually impaired people.
Chairman Pakistan Disabled Foundation Shahid Ahmed Memon was also present on the occasion. Earlier, Managing Director NBF Prof. Dr. Inam ul Haq Javeid briefed the guests about various schemes of the Foundation.
He said that NBF printed Braille books of different categories including Holy Qura’an, syllabus book for Class I to Graduate level, reference books and Islamic Books.
He said that Braille Press National Book Foundation is providing Braille books to the blinds peoples almost free of cost through NBF Outlet At country level.
It has printed the Holy Qura’an with Urdu translation and punctuation in Braille, which is one of its kind in the world.
He said that existing machinery would be updated to further improve the printing of braille books. The guests also visited My book shelf, single stone book, book wall clock, national book park and NBF central book shop.
