ISLAMABAD, Nov 03 (APP): President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Mohammad Shehbaz Sharif, Monday, expressed their deep grief and sorrow over loss of lives in an earthquake that struck parts of Afghanistan last night.
The president expressed his condolences and sympathies with the bereaved families who lost their relatives in the calamity, President Secretariat Press Wing said in a press release.
He also prayed for the early recovery of the injured.
Expressing solidarity with the affected families, the president said that Pakistan was standing with the Afghan people in the difficult moments and prayed for the grant of fortitude and patience to the Afghan brothers and sisters.
The prime minister, on X handle, said “Deeply saddened by the tragic loss of lives in northern Afghanistan after the deadly earthquake near Mazar-e-Sharif. Our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and prayers for the swift recovery of the injured.”
He further said that Pakistan stood in solidarity with our Afghan brothers and sisters in this difficult hour.
