Pakistan Pavilion inaugurated at Abu Dhabi International Book Fair
ISLAMABAD, Sep 14 (APP):Pakistan Pavilion at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2026 was formally inaugurated on Monday by Ambassador of Pakistan to the United Arab Emirates Shafqat Ali Khan, marking a significant moment for Pakistan’s literary representation on the international stage.
The pavilion is jointly represented by three leading Pakistani literary and publishing institutions: the National Book Foundation (NBF), represented by Director Headquarters Murad Ali; Book Corner Pakistan, represented by Director Amar Shahid; and Urdu World Books, represented by CEO Sarmad Khan, said a message received here.
During the inauguration ceremony, the ambassador performed the ribbon-cutting and toured the Pakistan Pavilion, visiting thematic sections showcasing the country’s literary diversity, including translations, children’s literature, cultural studies and new publications.
Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan appreciated the efforts of the participating organisations and commended their commitment to promoting Pakistan’s book culture internationally. He assured his continued support for initiatives aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s literary outreach and cultural diplomacy.
The visit also featured discussions on expanding access to books, promoting translation projects and strengthening collaboration to reach readers in underserved, flood-affected and conflict-affected regions.
Pakistan Pavilion will remain open throughout the fair, offering visitors a diverse display of Pakistan’s literary heritage and contemporary publishing landscape.
