Pakistan and Nepal vow to further strengthen their friendly ties

UNITED NATIONS, Sept 25 (APP)::Foreign ministers of Pakistan and Nepal Tuesday reaffirmed the “deep and historic” relations between the two countries, and expressed their desire to further strengthen them.
Noting that the arc of bilateral cooperation has been expanding steadily in various fields of mutual interest, both leaders affirmed to enhance economic relations between the two countries to a level commensurate with the political relationship and existing goodwill, according to an official statement issued after the meeting between Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and his Nepalese counterpart Pardeep Kumar Gyawali.
Foreign Minister Qureshi reiterated importance of Pakistan’s bilateral relations with Nepal and appreciated commendable interest of Nepal in reviving SAARC, which remains an important platform for forging regional consensus on all issue of concerns to the South Asian Community of Nations.
Both countries agreed to further strengthen the relations in all areas of mutual interest both at bilateral and regional levels, the statement added.
