Pak-UK Business conference to help boost trade, Investments relations:Speakers

LONDON, Dec 12 (APP):The speakers at a Pak-UK Business and investment opportunities conference held in Birmingham recently, hoped that such conferences would help boost commercial, investment and trade relations between Pakistan and United Kingdom.

A statement of Commercial Counsellor Section of the Pakistan High Commission London issued here said that the ‘PAK-UK Business and Investment opportunities Conference’ was organized by Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industries (RCCI).
The Pakistan High Commission supported this event by coordinating with “Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce (GBCC)” (UK) and the local business community to make this event successful.
The event was addressed among others by Saqib Bhatti President GBCC, Keith Stokes Smith President Commonwealth Chamber, Malik Shahid Saleem President RCCI, Ian Harrison Director Department for International Trade (UK), representatives from local business community, Commercial
Counsellor Sajid Mehmood Raja and the Pakistan’s Consul General (CG) Birmingham Ahmar Ismael.
President GBCC welcomed the initiative of holding this investment conference which creates more awareness amongst the business community and lead to increase in trade & investment relations.
Pakistan’s Commercial Counsellor Sajid Mehmood Raja gave overview of the bilateral commercial relations between Pakistan and UK and highlighted specific business opportunities in trade & investment with Pakistan.
Pakistan’s Consul General Birmingham on the occasion emphasized the need for holding such events regularly to bring about further enhancement in the bilateral commercial relations between the two countries.
The event was highly successful as it was well attended by the mainstream British Business Community.
Business to Business meetings were also organized on the sidelines of this conference which provided invaluable opportunities to the businesses to network and connect.
It is pertinent to mention here that RCCI had also organized similar event in Birmingham in December last year.
During that event, this Mission facilitated signing of MoU between RCCI and Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce (GBCC), which has now developed into formal business partnership and now GBCC is planning to send a trade delegation to Pakistan in the near future.
Holding of such business events help in further boosting bilateral commercial relations between two countries and increasing the level of Trade and Investment, speakers added.
