UNITED NATIONS, Sept 21 (APP): Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Wednesday categorically said that China would stand with Pakistan, supported it and would speak for it at every forum.
Premier Li expressed these views during the meeting with
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in New York, where both leaders were attending the 71st UN General Assembly session.
“We attach great importance to Pakistan’s position on Kashmir,” the Chinese Premier stated.
He said Pakistan itself was a victim of terrorism, adding, “We hope that the situation between India and Pakistan will not escalate.”
“We also hope that there will be better understanding of Pakistani position on Kashmir by the international community,” the Chinese Premier added.
“We are ready to play constructive role in improvement
of relations between Pakistan and India,” Li said.
The two leaders expressed satisfaction on the efforts
made by the two countries to deepen ties anchored by a shared vision of peace and progress for their peoples and for the region.
“We are thankful to Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif
for investing huge resources for the safety and security of
Chinese personnel in Pakistan,” the Chinese Premier said.
Prime Minister Sharif expressed his satisfaction on the
state of Pak-China relations.
He welcomed the statement of China on the atrocities
being committed in the Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Prime Minister Sharif said that Pakistan was committed
to regional peace and stability.
“We condemn terrorism in all its forms and manifestation,” the Prime Minister reiterated.
“Operation Zarb-e-Azb is going on successfully; we have
dismantled the network of terrorists from Pakistan,” Nawaz
Sharif apprised the Chinese Premier. Peace with neighbors was part of Pakistan’s vision, he added.
Prime Minister Sharif condoled with Chinese Premier Li
Keqiang on the deaths in China due to recent floods. “Whatever unfortunate happens in China is a matter of great concern for us; Pakistan and China are iron brothers,” he said.
The Pak-China relations have entered into a different phase
from political to economic one, which was a matter of great
happiness for Pakistan, he stated.
Chinese Premier shared his thoughts on the great gesture
by Prime Minister Sharif to meet him as Prime Minister-
designate when Premier Li Keqiang was in Pakistan.
“You broke the tradition; Pak-China relations are unbreakable,” the Chinese Premier said.

Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to visit Pakistan soon.
The Prime Minister was assisted by Sartaj Aziz, Adviser
to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, Syed Tariq Fatemi,
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs and
Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry, among others.
