OIC secretary general, Pakistan’s permanent representative discuss cooperation

ISLAMABAD, Jul 19 (APP): Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hissein Brahim Taha on Tuesday received Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the OIC Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh and discussed the areas of mutual cooperation.

Held at the OIC headquarters in Jeddah, the meeting was a follow-up on the implementation of the resolutions adopted by the 48th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers held in Islamabad, on March 23, 2022.

They also discussed the existing areas of cooperation and expressed the two parties’ desire to enhance dialogue and bilateral cooperation on topics and issues of common interest.

Ambassador Sheikh highlighted the importance of the OIC’s role at the international and regional levels, especially issues related to Jammu and Kashmir, Islamophobia, and developments in Afghanistan.

For his part, the secretary-general welcomed the continued interest shown by Pakistan in the OIC’s activities.
