ULAN BATOR, Feb 6 (Xinhua/APP): The number of freight trains via Mongolian territory for Asia-Europe and China-Russia routes totaled 3,850 at the end of 2025, an increase of 706 from 2024, data released by the country’s national railway operator showed on Friday.
From January to December 2025, a new record was set, with 33.7 million tonnes of freight transported by rail, according to Ulaanbaatar Railway.
A total of 3,144 China-Europe freight trains traveled through Mongolia in 2024, it added.
